I was having some issue with my Instagram app and had to clear cache to get it back to normal I thought it would be useful to share how I did it on my Samsung phone.
You’ve probably experienced the annoyance of your posts taking forever to load or the app not responding as it should. Clearing your Instagram cache is a great way to speed up your experience and ensure that the app is working properly. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to clear the cache on Instagram:
Note: This steps are for an Android device, iPhone might be different.
Step 1: Open the Settings menu.
First, open the Settings menu on your device. This can be accessed by clicking the gear icon, which can be found in the upper-right corner by sliding down on your screen.
Step 2: Select Apps.
Once you’ve opened the Settings menu, select Apps. This will bring up a list of all the apps installed on your device.
Step 3: Find and select Instagram.
Scroll down the list of apps until you find Instagram. Once you’ve located it, select it to open up the app’s settings.
Step 4: Select Storage.
On the Instagram app settings page, select the Storage option. This will show you how much of your device’s storage is being taken up by Instagram.
Step 5: Clear Cache.
At the bottom of the Storage page, you’ll find the Clear Cache button. This will delete all the cached data stored by the app, and help speed up the loading time of your posts.
Step 6: Restart the app.
Once you’ve cleared the cache, it’s a good idea to restart the app. This will ensure that any changes you’ve made are applied, and that the app is running as it should.
And that’s it! Clearing your Instagram cache is a quick and easy way to help speed up the app and make your experience better. Hopefully this guide has been helpful in explaining how to do it.
So far I had to do this only once although I just started using Instagram this year so, I’m guessing that do this once a year is probably a good practice.
